Big problems and large projects can be daunting.
They can feel like immovable "mountains" and feelings of overwhelm and panic can easily set in. If you let them.
Modern life can create many such metaphorical mountains.
Ask yourself these questions, and answer honestly:
What are you putting off right now because it is too big?
What are you not doing because the thought of doing it overwhelms you?
Acknowledging your reality is a powerful first step in self-development and progress.
Take control.
Choose a suitable "mountain" to work on.
I recommend selecting a relatively small "mountain" to practice on first until you get the idea (starting small and working up is a recurring theme here btw).
The trick is to now take a step back and study your personal “mountain.”
Look for the small metaphorical "stones" and "tiny rocks."
Pick the most obvious first item and deal with it.
Form a plan, commit to the process, and act until the first issue is resolved or the goal is achieved.
Move on to tackle the rest of the "stones" and "tiny rocks" one at a time.
Stop looking at the whole mountain and focus only on the process of handling individual items one at a time.
Get started, take small steps, and keep going patiently and doggedly until you’ve moved that whole "mountain."
You’ll develop a "mountain" of self-confidence along the way.
Rinse and repeat for as many mountains as necessary.
